Board Stiffener - Reusable fiberglass laminated epoxy gloves mask the gold contacts on circuit boards as well as providing stiffness to the board during wave soldering.
The gloves are "U" shaped channels with a .062" wide base to fit over standard boards and with fingers up to .765" long to fully mask edge mounted gold contacts. The gloves are reinforced with a 1/4" square pultruded unidirectional glass epoxy rod along their length. With a flexural strength of 150,000 psi, these rods provide increased stiffness to the PCB to prevent warpage. Fiberglass epoxy material has very high resistance to impact, harsh chemicals, and high temperature environments of wave soldering and conformable coating operations.
Gold fingers glove/board stiffeners are easily applied in long strip form with sufficient spring tension to cling to the board through many cycles resulting in significant labor and materials savings.
